The Compensated Neutron Pad (CNP) assembles to the Pad Deployment Tool (PDT) mandrel section
The Pad Deployment Tool includes the caliper assembly.
The CNP uses two Helium 3 detectors to measure the ratio of thermal neutrons at each detector. The ratio is corrected for hole size and a porosity is computed for a selected lithology. In addition, a caliper signal is recorded and used for the hole size correction.
